A sincere Thank You to all of you who supported my Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis!!!

Every year we prolong the life span of those with this fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. And it is because of you and your dollars that research continues in making great strides towards finding a cure one day soon.

It was a beautiful day. Although it started out a little chilly in the early morning, it warmed up very nicely and fun was had by all.

By the end of the day we raised over $110,000.00!!!

From all of us at Cystic Fibrosis Canada, Thank You!!!
Cystic Fibrosis Canada Great Strides Walk 2013

We make strides because others take strides! Every year across Canada, friends, family and co-workers of people with cystic fibrosis lace up their walking shoes to participate in Great Strides™: Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis. It’s Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s largest national fundraising event.
Please consider sponsoring me or even walking with us on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Karters Korners in Stittsville.
Thank You!

BLUESOUL:  The long-awaited Blues Album by Canada’s King of Roots Music and Ottawa’s own Terry Gillespie played at the NAC last night.

Terry Gillespie  is considered a forefather of the cultural dissemination of American music into Canada.  Today his voice is frequently compared to Van Morrison and Bob Dylan while his guitar is reminiscent of Mark Knopfler.  Richard Ludmerer, Vice-President, New York Blues and Jazz Society describes Gillespie’s music: ” Terry Gillespie possesses a magic that seems to occur right in the middle of each song.  It’s what causes the hairs to rise on the back of your neck.”

Terry was accompanied by seasoned musicians  Lyndell Montgomery and Wayne Stoute with special guest  Peter Measroch formerly of The Luther Allison Band on piano.
