December turned out to be fantastic month for we Led Zeppelin fans around the world. First there the the release of “Celebration Day”, the DVD of their 2007 reunion concert, a concert in the aid of the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund. Then there was The Kennedy Center Honors with an epic performance of Stairway To Heaven by Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart that had Robert Plant on the verge of tears. To see Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones so moved by someone else’s rendition of one of their songs was a joy to watch.
Joining Ann and Nancy on stage was the late John Bonham’s son Jason Bonham on drums, which was I’m sure an emotional night for him.
I had the pleasure to meet and photograph Jason’s band, “Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience” on their last tour through Ottawa and thought I’d re-post a few of my shots of Jason from that night because this is as close as I’m ever going to get to the greatest rock band in the world.
